Brickarms Mystery Pack, Volume 2 FAQ!

We're getting so many questions about the newest version of the Mystery Pack from Brickarms, I thought we'd do well to offer a handy FAQ for everyone.

How much does it cost? $10

How many weapons do you get? 4

Are there gold weapons again? Yes! This time, there are other random weapons too: Prototype weapons, a blood-spattered 24K gold weapon, or a regular 24K gold-plated Tactical Sword or Ray Gun!

What variety of common weapons will be in these? This time, you will get a specific mix: a Minigun, a Ray Gun, a Tactical Sword and one of 8 Bloody Spattered camo weapons.

What are the Bloody Spattered Camo Weapons? Paint gun, Dadao, Combat Knife, Damien Blade, Chainblade, Machete, Combat Shotgun or M21 Sniper Rifle.

What special colors are coming out? We don't know all of them, but we do know that the Tactical Sword can come in chromes, including red, blue, light and dark chromes. We also know this:

• Tactical swords come in 25 colors


• Miniguns in 20 colors


• Ray Guns in 25 colors


• Bloody Spattered Camo is on 8 different weapons: Paint gun, Dadao, Combat Knife, Damien Blade, Chainblade, Machete, Combat Shotgun or M21 Sniper Rifle.

What are the odds of getting a special weapon? 1 in 25 packs will have either a prototype or a 24k gold weapon. These are the "chase" weapons in the Mystery Packs, volume 2.

What are the odds of getting a prototype? 1 in 100!

Will you be selling the pack contents separately? Yes we will!

Will you sell them by the case? Yes! A case will contain 25 packs this time, instead of 20. In any case of 25, you are guaranteed to get either a gold weapon or a prototype. *This is only true if you order the case! If you order 25  packs, you may or may not get a chase weapon - or you may get more than one. But the only way you are guaranteed to get one of the rares is in a sealed case purchase!

Are the bloody weapons the same as the ones ToyWiz gave as prizes on the Brickarms forums? No! This is a different blood pattern that Will has created - and in a truly awesome move, you might  even get a super-rare Blood-Spattered camo Gold Weapon!

Does the Minigun come with an ammo chain? No.

Skeletons, ninjas and LEGO meet in the new Dojos of Spinjitsu!

LEGO Universe 1.10 was released today with lots of new content - including the Ninjago expansion!

Our Ninjago line of LEGO game toys has been enormously popular, so it's no surprise that LEGO Universe chose this theme for it's expansion. If you're not familiar with the game, I suggest reading up on your "Spinjitsu!" You get to choose weapons for a minifigure to arm him, mount him on the Ninjago base and spin against an opponent. Until now, you could only play with LEGO Ninjago sets, but now there will be battles online in LU too.  I wrote about Ninjago back in April if you want to read more, and see a short video.

Spring-loaded, head-splitting action with McFarlane's new Walking Dead Zombies

GeekTyrant managed to get some great pictures of some new Walking Dead packaging yesterday, revealing extra-juicy details. I have to say, McFarlane outdid themselves with lots of innovative twists that set these far above the typical action figure.

The package shown is for the 2-pack Zombie Roamer & Zombie Lurker. There are going to be a must-have!

• Zombie Roamer: "Push Button to see head split and brains splatter up" - yes, it does that! Note that the lever to reset the head is a knife in the walker's back. Genius!


• Zombie Lurker: "Upper body detaches to reveal guts / Turns into a zombie crawler" Yes, I do believe that looks like a bit of spine and guts trail for the crawler!


• Both zombies have detachable parts - like a hand that can be removed to show exposed bone and gore

Sideshow Collectibles Latest: Militaries of Star Wars: Clone Commander Bly

Hey everyone, this is a copy of my first post over at Action Figure Chat! You can see this and other reviews and news from bloggers over there, and of course, I wanted to make sure you see it here too!

 

Alright, hey from ToyWiz.com, this is Bebs, y'all! I'm just starting out blogging here, and I wanted to start with a good one. Sideshow Collectibles never misses, and Commander Bly just arrived at our warehouse this week.

First of all, it's always good to have a figure from any Star Wars franchise that hasn't already been made by companies far and wide. Bly has been done before, but not "overdone" if you know what I mean (take that, Vader & Skywalker).



We get a little backstory from SSC, but if you didn't know this stuff, you probably aren't a fan of Star Wars, but here goes:

Clone commander 5052, also known as Bly, was the leader of the Star Corps of clone troopers assigned to Jedi General Aayla Secura. He served with her on the exotic world of Felucia when he received Order 66. The executive command, originating from the Supreme Chancellor on Coruscant, identified Secura as a traitorous enemy of the state. Demonstrating his unerring loyalty to the Republic, Bly and his troopers raised their rifles and opened fire on their commanding officer, coldly killing the unsuspecting Jedi.
Bly was one of the first generation of clone commanders to be trained by the ARC trooper Alpha. The ARC troopers were a specially bred type of clone, more independent and with less docility tampering than the standard trooper of the line. Alpha's training program emphasized independence and outside-the-manual thinking.

Onward to the figure itself:



Sideshow Collectibles is really top-of-the-line in action figures, so it's not surprising that they did another great job on Bly. I think the biggest plus, aside from overall quality, is that he comes with both Phase I and Phase II helmets. When this release was announced, that was a huge tipping point with lots of collectors, so SSC definitely listened! The fabric bodysuit is another nice touch that makes this one feel really authentic. And naturally, you can pose Bly like crazy. Not just from the 30+ points of articulation, but also with 2 pairs of feet and lots of switch-out hands! That makes him one of the most "action-posable" action figures you'll find.

Basically, if you're a Sideshow Collectibles or Star Wars fan, Commander Bly is one to look into. Yes, he's a little expensive - SSC's figures always are. But he's of a quality you just won't find in a $10 clamshell.
