My First Mod: My Little Pony, Part 1

I promised y'all a Mod Monday, but we had so much going on, I held this post back! I've got 20 minutes still though!

It's a long story, so I'll send this out in two parts!

Until last year, my only custom toy mod was drawing tattoos on my favorite doll when I was 4. Last year, I got the bug though. It all started so innocently with a sweet My Little Pony (Green Apple Pony, to be exact).

Over the summer, a friend and I had an ongoing joke about a My Little Pony that had been abandoned on the road to my house. She stayed along the street all summer being run over, mowed, and massacred in various ways. But for months, the pony persevered. Ultimately, she became just a faded pony head, but still, every day, I looked to see what else had happened to it and gave a report on the pony. Finally, she simply disappeared and I thought the ongoing saga of the road-pony was over....but no!

Shortly after that, a package arrived from my friend. He'd sent me a replacement pony. But this would be MY little pony...not a random pony abandoned on the roadside! So her adventures began in a series of photos over several months, showing what Pony was up to around the office.

...and even took a trip to the Farmer's Market.

She was pretty much the spokesmodel for my desk.

So the saga of the pony went on and on. As you can probably tell, I had a little too much fun with Green Apple Pony for a grown-up, but that's okay, right? Right?

I was always trying to think of something new and interesting to do with my pony, so as the holidays approached, I had a brilliant idea: chrome pony.

It should have been a thing of beauty. If you want to know how it turned out though, I'm saving that bit for later.
