The Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees are set to renew their rivalry tonight, with Jon Lester taking on Phil Hughes, who at one time were two of the highest touted prospects in the majors.
Tonight is just the prequel, with Joba Chamberlain and Josh Beckett matching up tomorrow night.
There are always a bunch of story lines when these two teams match up, but there is even more on the line for both teams in the next two days.
First, Boston is making it's first trip to the new Yankee Stadium.
Second, with the Yankees pitching staff struggling and it's big stars not producing, the much criticized and hated Yankees are under an even closer microscope.
Not only will it be an interesting series, but one that may be important for later in the season.
