Terminator Salvation

After the wild success of Star Trek, the next big movie to hit theaters is Terminator Salvation, being released at Midnight on May 21st.
The producers of the film decided to go in a different direction than some of the previous installments, being that it takes place in the middle of the Terminator timeline. It's a risky move, that may or may pay off.
The fact that Christian Bale was cast in the title role will instantly make people think of last Summer's big hit "The Dark Knight."
That can be both a good thing and a bad thing. On the one hand, because The Dark Knight was so successful, it's possible that the film will attract a whole new crowd that don't care much about the Terminator series.
On the other hand, his performance as Bruce Wayne/Batman could cause people to not truly believe him as John Connor. He could also risk Will Smith syndrome and people could burn out on him very quickly.
The Terminator series is one that was never expected to still be going 20 years down the road.
Originally, Arnold Schwarzenegger was not even going to be cast in the title role, with O.J. Simpson playing the role of John Connor.
The rumor is that people in the mid-80's would not have believed O.J. Simpson as being a killer...good thing that turned out correct.
So what do you think? Will Terminator live up to the hype or will it be a flop?
